The comedian Julius Agwu who had declared his intention to run for governor in his native Rivers State in the 2015 general elections, making the announcement during his annual comedy show, and was scheduled to officially declare his political party with other details at his comedy show tagged ‘The
Declaration’ which held at the Transcorp Hilton hotel Abuja.
Sources close to him has revealed that the comedian has pulled out of the governorship due to zoning-related issues. The source said that the incumbent governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi and Julius Agwu hail from the same area and it will be unwise of him to venture for the Governorship position. Nonetheless, Julius Agwu is still planning to get involved in politics, despite the new development.
