Over 15 lives were lost and scores of houses, shops and vehicles badly burnt yesterday night in Ibadan when a truck conveying premium motor spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol lost control and spilled its contents on the road around 9.30pm under the popular Molete bridge.
An eye-witness told ThisDay that the tanker was coming from the Challenge end of the Lagos/Ibadan expressway and heading towards Beere area of the city.
The vehicle was said to have caught fire after its driver allegedly lost control. Several vehicles, houses and many shops were said to have been badly affected, with another source claiming that the lives lost could not be evaluated yet as the raging effects of the fire has spread to more homes as at the time of filing this report.
